Jr Accountant
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our accounting team within a fast-paced title insurance company. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, premium remittance, and financial reporting tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working with both standard accounting processes and industry-specific workflows.Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank account reconciliations, including escrow and operating accounts.• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Process title insurance premiums, remittances, and underwriter reporting.
• Maintain accurate and organized transactional and audit records.
• Assist with closing files, reviewing disbursements, and validating balances.
• Help ensure compliance with state regulations and industry-specific accounting standards.
• Work collaboratively with escrow officers, processors, and management to resolve discrepancies.
• Perform general ledger entries and assist with month-end close.
• Provide administrative accounting support as needed.
Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).• 0–2 years of accounting experience; title, escrow, or insurance industry experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a deadline‑driven environment.
